- After a sold-out headlined show at the Troubadour in Hollywood, attention from numerous music industry professionals, and a rapidly increasing fan base in the Los Angeles area, DERIK NELSON BAND's frontman returns to his roots of Olympia, Washington to perform on the very stage that gave him his start when he was seven years old-- but this time as a senior in college with a new album and a full band.
On June 13th, Capital Playhouse (a venue best known for its superb theatrical productions) will get its walls rocked, jazzed, and funked up by this diverse and upbeat pop music group. Formed at the University of Southern California, JACK KOVACS (guitar), BERT GAY (bass), BEN ROSE (drums), BRIAN HARGROVE (keyboards), and DERIK NELSON (voice, piano, guitar) began playing together during the recording process of the singer/songwriter's latest album and proceeded to hone their sound and style as a collective group.
The show will feature some exciting cover songs ranging from Sting to Michael Jackson, mixed with selections from Derik’s new album “Stories Told to Skylines.” Tickets are going quickly, so call (360) 943-2744 to reserve your seats.
